Atlanta Area Council International Committee (AAC IC)

Scouting is truly international. The Boy Scouts of America is part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) which recognizes Scouting programs in at least 216 countries. Scouting is literally a world-wide program. Atlanta Area Council Scouts have many opportunities to participate in international activities and events with Scouts from other countries, bridging differences in language, cultures and politics, and helping fulfill Lord Baden-Powell's dream of international friendship.

BP’s Closing Address at the 3rd World Jamboree, Arrowe Park, 12 August 1929

"From all corners of the earth, you have journeyed to this great gathering of World Fellowship and Brotherhood. Today I send you out from Arrowe (Park) to all the World, bearing my symbol of Peace and Fellowship, each one of you my ambassador bearing my message of Love and Fellowship on the wings of Sacrifice and Service, to the end of the Earth. ... Carry it fast and far so that all men may know the Brotherhood of Man."

Are You Interested in an International Opportunity?

The International Department of the Boy Scouts of America maintains a database of Scouts and leaders who are interested in participating in International Scouting opportunities as a delegate of the Boy Scouts of America. Nomination forms are available for youth and leaders and the International Department requests that interested parties submit their recommendations as soon as possible so that scouts and leaders of the Atlanta Area Council may be considered for any upcoming events as part of a national contingent. Your council international representative is responsible for collecting and sending recommendations to the BSA’s international committee.
